Opportunity Shop
This shop sells second- hand clothing, linen, and some small kitchen items. It is in the Norah Brown Hall and is open for business on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings from 9am till 12 noon. Donations of clothing and manchester can be dropped off at the shop during opening hours or left at the parish office. The proceeds from the Op Shop are kept in a separate account, with the funds available for pastoral needs within the parish and the wider community. The money may be spent on local needs such as:
♦ Support of hospice initiatives
♦ Donations to Christian Community Care
♦ Seasons bereavement programme for children
♦ City Mission
♦ Small Christmas gifts for the elderly
♦ Provisions for families in need.
Surplus stock from the Op Shop is sent to the Auckland City Mission. Anyone who would like to be a volunteer and is willing to join the roster for one or more shifts a month is most welcome.
Many who help in the Op Shop are not parishioners – in fact many worship in other churches.
